Job Description & Responsibilities:
Implement any Global policies and guidelines for purchasing
Achieve competitive pricing and terms through negotiations with suppliers
Use standard templates and other tools to create consistency in dealing with suppliers
Ensure all contracts are loaded in Travel Studio
Continuously drive improvements, efficiencies and aligned processes
Adhere to DMC Global team guidance and direction
Qualify and provide adequate explanations for any price movement
Within the DMC be the champion and focal point, responsible for the sourcing and contracting of product ideas and suggestions generated throughout the business.
Proactively seek to source new product for our partners, particularly sustainable, experience-rich opportunities.
Remain abreast of industry trends, new products and destinations.
Support Sales team by compiling pre-built modules to use in the creation of standard itineraries
Ensure that suppliers meet Client's health & safety guidelines
Ensure regular feedback is communicated to suppliers across the region.
Timely reservations processes, cancellations, rooming lists etc.
Issues with suppliers resolved promptly and courteously.
Ensure all suppliers have a current, signed contract in place.
Set direction for team with clear departmental and individual goals and job descriptions.
Monitor and recognize achievements
Identify training needs, career progression options & opportunities, and development needs.
Develop and execute action plan following staff surveys.
Effectively communicate with individual team members and between departments
Candidate Requirements
A thorough understanding of and passion for Client's style of travel, including the styles of our different brands
Knowledge of product, suppliers, destinations and the travel industry in local region
Experience in procurement processes, contracting, negotiation and product development
Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to delegate
Experience managing staff and leading a team
Ability to communicate well in written and spoken English
Undergraduate and graduate degrees would be an advantage
Outstanding communication and first-class people- and relationship-management skills
Initiative to develop and implement continuous improvement of processes
Committed to exceptional standards of internal and external customer services
A willingness to work regular office hours with flexibility to be on call outside of office hours as needed
Ability to work efficiently and effectively both independently and as part of a team
